Sheriff Doug Brewster's peaceful life is torn apart when a local militia member is found murdered and marked with a ritualistic bruise. While disturbing, he handles it as he would any other case, until he discovers hisbest friend, Josie Galloway, shares the same bizarre mark.

Josie is happy to accept her role as the local 'color'--as a Wiccan
Priestess she expects no less. But when she begins to share the dreams of a dead man--and the Celtic symbol that marked him in death--she begins to fear for her own sanity.

Joining forces, they dodge a sadistic killer from Josie's past and unravel the tangle of secrecy and lies behind the Nazi-driven ideals of a white supremacist cult. What neither of them bargains on are the dark secrets they will uncover or how their feelings for each other will change from friendship to something far more powerful.

4 1/2 stars and TOP PICK from Romantic Times BOOKclub!  The action is smooth and continuous, and Josie's psychic powers are realistically depicted.   Doug's gradual acceptance of Jose and all she is is nicely done.  This is an excellent paranormal mystery with a nice amount of romance. -- Susan Mobley, Romantic Times BOOKclub

NEW!!  4 1/2 Euros!  T. L. Schaefer is an author who never disappoints, whether writing under this name or under her nom de plume, Keira Ramsey. Ms. Schaefer grasps the reader by the throat, mind, and heart from sentence one and races her through the story, through plot complexities and convoluted mysteries, right on to the end. You never want to start one of her novels unless you have carved out the time to complete it in one sitting: otherwise, dinner will burn, tv shows wont be watched, and the phone will ring unheard. -- Annie, EuroReviews

5 Roses!  Ms. Schaeffer leaves behind the fluff, hype and darkness of Hollywood witches and shows Josie as a warm and caring human being that holds true to the Witches Creed. Drawing on its simple premise she finds the strength to not only preserve her own life, but to help Doug solve Elis murder. It is her own dark secret, a horrific experience from her past, that almost destroys her love with Doug. The villain of the piece is a total surprise, as are the secrets held for so many years by this person and will shock the reader. Even with the hints along the way, the revelation as to whom is behind not only Elis murder, but also the entire Brotherhood comes in an astonishing turn of events. This reviewer found herself holding her breath awaiting the final outcome.  The reader will not want to miss one moment of The Brotherhood. This reviewer hopes the series on Mariposa and its residents will continue through many more books. -- Gina -- Love Romances

5 Hearts!  This is one of the most intriguing stories I had the pleasure of reading in quite a while. I love a good who-done-it and this story will have you spellbound. I couldn't stop reading. T.L. Schaefer shows a great talent with her book The Brotherhood. Her story is three-dimensional in that it tells a story with more than one subject line and the reader can follow the plots evenly as the story unfolds before you. Ms. Schaefer is a superb writer and I look forward to reading more of her books. This one is a keeper. Be sure and get your copy today and also get her book called The Summerland, the first book in this story and find out how it all began. Enjoy!  -- Diane T.,  The Romance Studio

5 Angels!  The Brotherhood is a fabulous page turner that the reader will not want to put down. The suspense is palpable from the first page and only increases as the secrets held by the towns members are revealed. There are no breaks in the action as even the love scenes between Doug and Josie are intense and true toe curlers. The Brotherhood has something for everyone, male or female. It is a wonderfully well told story.  -- Regan, Fallen Angel Reviews

***** Here is a fast paced novel just overflowing with suspense! This book is the sequel to another titled "Summerland", which is still available through the publisher AND through Amazon online. Both novels are stand-alone stories. If you only read this one, you will NOT be confused at all. However, once you finish with this book, you will find yourself rushing out to purchase the first. This author's stories are THAT good. Author T. L. Schaefer knows drama! *****-- Detra Fitch, Huntress Reviews

5 Hearts!  With a Wiccan Priestess heroine and hotter than hot sheriff hero this book is sure to please any paranormal lover. Ms. Schaefer's gritty and witty writing style will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout this romantic suspense novel, wondering who-dun-it and when the heroine and hero are finally going to give into the inevitable and do it themselves. The storyline is one of the most unique I have read in a very long time and Ms. Schaefer's ability to draw the reader into a setting that is far removed from every day life is a true gift. If you enjoy a compelling story complete with intense emotions and riveting suspense, pick this one up today!  --Jodi Copeland, author of UNCHARTED WATERS

4 1/2 Hearts!  Josie and Doug come together in a whirlwind of activity.  They keep their lives separate yet intertwine emotionally when they least expect their love.  Both are happy with their single status, yet when fate intervenes, they realize they are meant to be together.  Their happiness depends on their ability to find the killers, and to solve the murders. The tension between them keeps the story moving at a fast pace.  THE BROTHERHOOD is a suspenseful novel that will keep the readers heart pounding... -- Angi, Love Romances

The Brotherhoods parallel plot lines, Elis death investigation and the danger from Josies past, are woven together with masterful skill.  Doug and Josie are both people who have a very real fear of commitment while desiring it at the same time.  Their love for one another grows out of a long-term friendship and attraction and is very believable.  The paranormal aspects of the book are just icing on the cake.  All in all, T. L. Schaefers book is one hell of a read! Moni Draper for Paranormal Romance Reviews.

A nice, taut thriller with an interesting use of Wiccan magic and belief, presented with reasonable accuracy (as a Wiccan for 30 years, its nice to see a writer get it right for a change). Doug, the pragmatic, cool-headed sheriff, is an appealing man, rational but not so hard-headed as to utterly write off Josie as a crackpot (Ever noticed how many TSTL heroes there are in books with witch heroines?). He has his own guilty secret, and a mother whos an absolute horror.  Magical Josie isnt a stereotyped witch, but an intelligent businesswoman with a painful past. Ruled by the Wiccan Rede, Do what thou will, an it harm none, she is still practical enough to act aggressively when necessary, albeit with a strong concern for her principles. The plot is suspenseful...I can strongly recommend this  as a fun read for fans of romantic suspense, paranormals, and horror alike.  Ill definitely keep my eye on this writer, and I plan to read the prequel to this, The Summerland.   -- Gillian, The Best Reviews

A woman in touch with her spirituality and her own destiny, Josie is an infectious free spirit whose life hides a deadly secret. She has her own set of rules that she lives by and only asks that her beliefs be respected. The son of a staunchly religious woman, Doug finds it hard to balance his beliefs with Josie's, but it is even harder to deny his attraction to her. He has demons of his own that he must deal with, and it isn't until the very end of the book that he comes to terms with them.  THE BROTHERHOOD mixes romance, suspense, and spirituality together for a nice package that is sure to please fans searching for a book with a deeper meaning.  -- Courtney, Romance Reviews Today

Another keeper from the talented pen of Terri Schaefer! I completely enjoyed her debut novel The Summerland and began reading The Brotherhood hoping it would live up to its predecessor. It is much better. Doug and Josie have this amazing chemistry that draws the reader to them and enfolds the reader into their lives. This novel really has it all: suspense, danger, intrigue, betrayal, romance, passion and emotion. I highly recommend you don't miss this amazing novel.  --  Sharyn, In the Library Reviews
